Classroom Guidance Lessons

As Brookhollow’s school counselor I make visits to your child’s classroom. The lessons I teach are designed to help your child succeed in school and life. These lessons align with our school wide positive behavior plan, which is to BE SAFE, BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE.

I teach all children about respect, responsibility, friendship, social skills, bullying prevention and character education. I also work with the classroom teachers to address any needs that are classroom specific.

Small Group Counseling

Small counseling groups are offered on a continuous basis. They bring together students who are working toward the same goal or share similar circumstances. (Friendship concerns, divorce, behavior issues, bereavement, etc). Students can be referred by parent or teacher. Small group members meet once a week. Students are required to obtain parental permission before attending any small counseling group. Please reach out with any needs that your student might have.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is provided on an as needed basis. Students may be seen individually for a variety of concerns; divorce, behavior concerns, bereavement, interpersonal issues, social skills. Parental permission is required for this service. Please reach out with any needs your student might have.

PALS

At Brookhollow we are lucky to have the PALS program from PHS visit our students. The PALS program is a mentoring program that helps to build reliency and leadership in our students.

The PALS are PHS juniors and seniors that enroll in the PALS class and receive training and guidance from their teacher, Ms. Kokes. Students at Brookhollow are selected for this program based on availability of their class/grade schedule and the times that the PALS will be visiting Brookhollow. Parent permission is required for this program. Once selected they get to meet with their PALS once a week for approximately 30 minutes to work on character/leadership building actvities through the PALS mentoring. Brookhollow loves our PALS program!
